It has not only tarnished the image of the church, but also affects religious personnel and their ability to be effective. The Religion Department at ORF-TV under Gerhard Klein wanted to to find out how the pastors are faring. For this purpose, it asked the GfK Austria (Social and Organizational Research) to conduct a telephone survey. The aim was to find out: "How are you, pastor?" and to shed light on the professional and private lives of Catholic priests.
